Malia Gardner has been teaching Dance for 12 years, but this will be her fifth year with Denver Public Schools. Malia was born and raised in Kaneohe, HI where she trained in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and Ballet dance styles at 24-VII Danceforce. Upon graduating from high school, Malia made the journey to LA and began training with masters in Dance, focusing on styles like Modern, Lyrical, House, and commercial Hip-Hop. Soon after, Malia received her BA in Dance from the University of California, Riverside. Ms. Malia believes that a diversified learning experience is essential for an artist to find their voice and identity in their work; it is her goal to continue introducing a wide range of dance styles to the students here at KCAA so they can see what type of movement truly speaks to them.
