Student Voice and Leadership

Student Voice and Leadership at KCAA seeks to uplift and empower students to design, plan, and execute their vision for school while improving leadership skills such as communication, collaboration, advocating for justice, and work ethic just to name a few. Students work in a variety of teams including the Events Team which plans and executes student and community events; the Professional Development Team which facilitates district approved learning for teachers about being more culturally responsive in the classroom; and finally, the Challenge 5280 Team, which investigates systemic failures in education and then designs systemic solutions to the problems. There is no other class quite like Student Voice and Leadership where student voice and action are centered and supported for students to successfully implement their ideas to help make Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy the best experience for students.
