Stagecraft and Technical Theatre

Stagecraft students design, construct, and paint set pieces for use in KCAA’s theatre productions. Students learn how to safely use tools in KCAA’s Scene Shop, including hammers, drills, and saws. This class is a mix of theatre, visual art, and real-world math.

Technical Theatre includes everything “behind the scenes” in order to put on a dance, music, or theatre production. Students learn lighting, sound design, and digital design. Students can also be part of the Tech Crew for a production. This includes backstage run crew, spotlights, light board, sound board, and projections.
