About
Welcome to Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy
| Fall 2009 will mark a new beginning for Kunsmiller, a spacious school
crowning a lovely park. This former middle school will reopen to
become a K-12 integrated arts school. It will open first as a K-8
school, adding grades and ever increasing arts opportunities until it
reaches capacity at 12th grade. Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy will serve students as a Denver Public Schools' magnet with regional priorities, 75% of students coming from the areas feeding Kennedy HS, Lincoln HS and Grant Middle School, and 25% of students from the rest of the district. Students apply and are selected at elementary by lottery and at middle and high school by interview to discern passion for the arts. No auditions or portfolios are required. As of the end of June, 700 students have enrolled, and new applicants are added to waiting lists. | ![]() |
